2025 Lake John Ice Fishing Tournaments
2025 LAKE JOHN ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT RULES**
ENTRY FEES:
Adults: $60
Youth (16 & under): $20
The bag and possession limit for trout is four fish at Lake John. Please consult your 2023-2024 rules and regulations and be aware of any rule changes.
Only one major cash prize will be awarded to any entrant. Winners of major cash prizes are also eligible for hourly cash prizes.
Contestants must show valid contest registration receipt to enter fish for measurement. There will be one official measuring station at Lake John, located in the main parking lot in front of Lake John Resort's General Store.
Prize payouts and drawings will be held at Lake John, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Winners of cash prizes do not have to be present to win; if not present at the prize payout, they will receive their prizes by U.S. mail. Winners of merchandise prizes and the 50/50 drawing must be present to win.
In the event of a tie, the first fish registered wins. For example, if three (3) 35-inch fish (88.9 cm) are the largest fish entered, the fish registered earliest will take 1st place, the second fish registered will take 2nd place, etc.
Fish under 16 inches / 40.64 cm will NOT be eligible for measurement if brought in by an adult entrant.
Only fish caught during the contest hours between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, and contest hours between 6:00 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025, are eligible for prizes. $100 hourly cash prizes will be paid for the highest scoring fish measured during each hour as per the aforementioned official tournament schedule. Youth are eligible for hourly prizes for fish meeting adult requirements.
Any violation of contest rules, Colorado fishing rules and regulations, State or County laws brought to the attention of the Chamber Board of Directors will subject the violator to review for prize eligibility by the Board.
Only registered anglers may win prizes. Unregistered anglers in your party may jeopardize the validity of a fish caught by a registered entrant and will disqualify all persons in your group.
Irresponsible use of motor vehicles or OHVs (including ATVs and snowmobiles) by any member of a fishing party WILL result in disqualification of the entire party.
The North Park Area Chamber of Commerce and its Board Members accept no responsibility for accidents, illness, or injuries for the duration of the weekend. You are on the premises at your own risk.
Please keep the area clean. PACK OUT YOUR TRASH!!!!
Scoring consists of the calculation of length plus girth of each trout caught by individuals during the contest. Fish under 40.64 cm (16 inches) will NOT be eligible for measurement if brought in by an adult entrant. The official combined measurement of length plus girth of fish entered will be measured and recorded in centimeters.
To be eligible for the cash prizes, a contestant must have a valid Colorado fishing license, must be registered, and present a paid entry fee receipt.
**ADULT CASH PRIZES**
- Grand Prize: $1,500
- 2nd Prize: $1,000
- 3rd Prize: $500
**PRIZES FOR YOUTH UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE**
Youth anglers under age 16 pay a $20 entry fee (early bird) and compete for separate cash prizes:
- 1st Prize: $100
- 2nd Prize: $75
- 3rd Prize: $50
- 4th Prize: $25
$100 per hour paid for the highest scoring fish measured during each hour from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, and between 6:00 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025, are eligible for prizes. Top prize-winning fish are included in hourly payoffs for both youth and adults.
Youth anglers age 12 and up may compete for adult cash prizes by paying the $60 adult entry fee, purchasing a fishing license if applicable, and following adult rules in the Contest. The minimum length of 16 inches / 40.64 cm length restriction does not apply to youth anglers.
**Cheating will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification and banning from future events.**
